Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) recently visited Romney and Capon Bridge, Hampshire County, West Virginia, as part of her Capito Connect broadband tour. The tour is part of the Capito Connect Initiative, which was launched in 2015. The initiative aims to provide faster Internet connections for communities in West Virginia. There are several broadband projects being built in Hampshire County according to Capito. She said these fiber-optic projects were made possible by collaboration among local, state and federal lawmakers. Capito said during her visit, "Six years ago, I visited this region of our state to highlight the need for improved broadband. Today, I saw and learned about several broadband projects the county has underway, which shows the strides communities across our state are taking to better connect."
