Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai is proposing $950 million in investments to help carriers build better broadband networks in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The proposal comes after infrastructure in the two countries was badly damaged by Hurricanes Maria and Irma two years ago. The latest funding would be provided over the next 10 years. The FCC will vote on the proposal on Sept. 26.
