Sedro-Woolley, Wash., has approved an agreement with the Port of Skagit that will see the port extend its planned countywide fiber optic network into the city. Port of Skagit Broadband Manager Andrew Entrikin says two segments of that network has already been built. Another segment from Interstate 5 to Sedro-Woolley will soon begin construction, and funding is available for another segment connecting Hamilton and Concrete. Local officials say the expansion of the network will benefit the economy in the region.
