The Department of Agriculture’s ReConnect Program will provide $1.6 million in grant money to expand rural broadband services in Adams County, Illinois. Adams Fiber will use the money to extend broadband Internet service to the Columbus area northeast of Quincy Regional Airport. The fiber-optic line will serve 440 residents, 34 farms and 18 businesses. Construction on the project will begin next year.
