Telesat has joined a group of technology companies, led by C Spire, that are working to close the digital divide. The participating companies include Airspan Networks, Microsoft, Nokia and Siklu. The firms have been testing technology, developing new business models and providing training with the goal of boosting digital skills in rural communities. Telesat brings its geostationary satellite fleet and Telesat LEO, a low earth orbit network to the group. The company will provide analysis tools and its experience with LEO technology as well.
