The Monroe County Electric Power Association in Monroe County, Miss., has reached an agreement with Conexon that will see 11,000 customers receive broadband Internet services. Conexon will provide network design and engineering, construction management, and customer support for the $30 million project. The company will also create a subsidiary called M-Pulse Fiber that will handle day-to-day operations of the broadband service. Construction on the network will begin later this year, and customers could begin receiving service by early 2021. However, it will take four years to build a network that covers all of Monroe County.
