Tahlequah, Oklahoma, is seeking resident opinions on improving Internet options in the city. Currently, two electric cooperatives serve communities around Tahlequah, but there are several options the city can choose from. There are still few options that would provide gigabyte fiber-optic service to customers. “Competition in any business can benefit the customer, and that includes Internet service providers,” said Tahlequah mayor Sue Catron. “We have known for a while that Internet service is a basic necessity for many living and working in our city. In the midst of the pandemic, we have pivoted how we work, shop and attend school and that all centers on reliable, fast Internet service."
