The city of Redding, California, recently approved plans to build a fiber-optic network for all residents, businesses and agencies in the city. The 26-mile fiber-optic ring will be built in four phases. According to local officials, phase one and two of the project will cover construction of the ring. Phase three will be the pilot phase of offering services to businesses and residents. Phase four will cover the build-out that will connect all residents and businesses to the network.
